Kiln repair

At this time I am only servicing L&L kilns that were purchased from me. You can tell if you bought it from me by the serial number, which will end in 'NE'. If you have an L&L kiln that you didn't buy from me and need tech support, please email [email protected], and that message will be routed to me or another L&L tech.

All kiln manufacturers offer tech support, but if you need help with your non-L&L kiln, I am happy to provide tech support via phone or email for a $45 charge per diagnosis.

I am now offering hands-on kiln repair workshops at my studio, where you will learn to repair your kiln yourself. Details can be found here:

Kiln Repair Service Rates
Hourly Service Charge: $125/hr
One hour minimum. 
A travel charge will be added for work more than 20 minutes from Grayslake, IL, at the hourly rate for both directions.

Kiln Maintenance Checkup includes up to one hour of service:
- Measure element resistance
- Pin or mortar any loose or broken brick
- Vacuum out entire kiln and control panel
- Check controls/ switches for proper operation
- Check all wiring for damage or wear
- Verify service voltage
- Check Kiln Sitter operation, check rod for wear
- Calibrate Kiln Sitter
- Level kiln
- Check and adjust hinge operation
- Check power cord for damage or wear
- Check power receptacle for damage or wear
- Tighten body bands
- Check/replace thermocouples
- Check computer for proper operation
- Replace rusted or stripped screws
- Consultation on recommended repairs and kiln issues
- Written estimate will be provided for additional repairs

Need training on how to use your kiln safely and effectively?
On site workshops are available.

1 hour minimum.
